For the first time, the iconic American Gothic, on loan from the Art Institute of Chicago, will appear in Cincinnati alongside the Art Museum’s own Daughters of Revolution. Accompanied by other quintessential works by artists of the Regionalist Movement, the Art Museum will host a variety of programs and events stimulating conversation around the definition of “realism” as an artistic style, small town and rural life, stereotypes, nationalism, and what it means to be an American. Masterpieces of Japanese Art Coming February 2015
The Art Museum is kicking off an extraordinary opportunity in support of the upcoming exhibition Masterpieces of Japanese Art. Participants will be able to “adopt” a masterpiece of his or her choosing. By doing so, your gift will specifically underwrite the base cost to display the selected work of art. Adoption recognition will be listed alongside the chosen work of art during the exhibition along with an invitation to a VIP opening.

Big Pictures is a yearlong public exhibition that features photographs by artists on billboards across Greater Cincinnati. Organized by Brian Sholis, Associate Curator of Photography at the Cincinnati Art Museum, this exhibition presents captivating images by photographic artists working around the world.
