Wine and Dine at the 17th Annual A Taste of Duveneck on June 7
Always-popular fundraiser benefits Art Museum’s education programs

CINCINNATI (March 28, 2007) – Over 600 guests will enjoy the region’s premier food and wine event, the 17th annual A Taste of Duveneck, on June 7, 6 p.m. at the Cincinnati Art Museum.

The always-popular fundraiser will feature a new element this year, an outdoor Bier Garten designed in the Art Museum’s popular Alice Bimel courtyard. Guests can sample premiere beers and microbrews, and enjoy live music by the band Blue Stone Ivory.

Featured wineries include Vinkolet Winery, Vintage Wine, Heidelberg, Lion Group, Valley Vineyards, Wine Trends and Kinkead Ridge Estate Winery. Participating restaurants include Pacific Moon, BonBonerie, Ferrari’s Little Italy, Porkopolis Tavern and Grille, Teller’s, Universal Grille, Signature Desserts, Bistro Group, Edibles and Such, Starbucks, and What’s For Dinner.

Guests will also have an opportunity to participate in a silent and live auction led by Wes Cowan Auctions, Inc. and Antiques Roadshow.

“This year’s event offers something for everyone - food, wine, beer, music, a live auction, raffle and art,” said Fran Cohen, event chair. “The best part is that all the proceeds benefit the Art Museum’s Education division.”

In addition to sampling signature dishes and international wines from Cincinnati’s finest restaurants and wine distributors, the highlight of the evening includes a rare opportunity to possibly win a work of art. In March 2007, a group of 29 local artists from the Cincinnati Art Club unveiled a miniature painting inspired by the original 1897 Tambola, currently on view in the Art Museum’s Cincinnati Wing. The original miniature painting Tambola, was created by a group of well-known artists from the Cincinnati Art Club, including Frank Duveneck, Edward Potthast and Joseph Sharp. The new Tambola will be auctioned off through raffle ticket sales during the event.

“Just like the original artists of 1897, the present day Cincinnati Art Club artists have displayed a remarkable tribute to the camaraderie and high spiritedness of the local art scene,” said Julie Aronson, curator of American painting and sculpture.

All proceeds will be matched by an anonymous challenge grant, that will benefit the Art Museum’s Education division to further develop learning opportunities for students, adults families and children.

Tickets for A Taste of Duveneck are $75 for adults, $125 patron level and $200 benefactor level. For reservations call (513) 721-ARTS or visit www.cincinnatiartmuseum.org.
