Name:
Diversions
Artist:
Jimmy Baker (American, b.1980), artist
Date:
2008
Place:
Cincinnati/Ohio/United States
Medium:
oil and resin on canvas over panel The resin in this picture seems to have been poured over the surface and sides to make it a very smooth and highly glossy surface. The resin has begun to yellow, as seen along the sides against the white canvas. Most if not all of the yellowing reaction is almost certainly induced by light exposure. It is probably an oxidation process that cannot be stopped but the painting should be treated as a light-sensitive work. Urry May 2018
