The Cincinnati Wing: The Story of Art in the Queen City celebrates the magnificent accomplishments of Cincinnati artists in a unique and comprehensive display. Fifteen new galleries specially designed for this purpose provide an elegant setting in which the fascinating story of the visual arts in this great American city will be told for the very first time through the incomparable collection of the Cincinnati Art Museum.

From the great ceramics of Rookwood Pottery and the superb carved furniture of Aesthetic Movement craftsmen such as Benn Pitman to the sculpture of Hiram Powers and the paintings of Frank Duveneck and John Twachtman, Cincinnati’s artists produced works of international renown and made the Queen City one of this country’s leading art centers. This award-winning, multimillion-dollar project highlights their many achievements, presenting over four hundred objects, including painting, sculpture, furniture, ceramics, and metalwork in the context of Cincinnati’s development.

In the new galleries of The Cincinnati Wing, towering windows offer panoramic views of beautiful Eden Park and the downtown, bringing art and the city together as one of the most significant chapters in the history of American art unfolds.
