Cincinnati Art Museum This beautiful #WorkoftheWeek, a portrait of Dame Maggie Smith is a recent acquisition to our collection. Just kidding! This portrait by Austrian painter Oskar Kokoschka of the Duchess of Montesquiou-Fezensac came into our collection in 1983. She does bear quite a striking resemblance to our favorite fictional countess, doesn’t she? Look. Listen. Learn.

Part-gallery talk and part-classical music concert, this new program created in collaboration with the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music (CCM) and College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) explores the intersection of the visual arts and music throughout history by shared looking and listening. Each month examines a different era through the lens of the Art Museum’s permanent collection, featuring conversations with DAAP students and live concerts by CCM students.
