Cincinnati Art Museum OPENING TODAY: Woohoo! It's a long weekend! You should swing by CAM to check out our NEW permanent contemporary #art gallery! #free This new permanent collection gallery, located on the Museum’s second-floor ambulatory, will display approximately 35 pieces from the Nancy and David Wolf Collection of contemporary art in ceramics, glass and wood, and will be periodically rotated to feature new selections. The Wolfs have gifted over 200 works of art to the Cincinnati Art Museum, positioning our institution as one of the foremost centers for the study and enjoyment of contemporary craft. Kreines Lecture Shining from Sea to Sea: American Silver from the Nineteenth Century to the Present

From gleaming silverware on an elegantly set table to a shining trophy held high above the winner’s head, silver speaks volumes about American style, values, innovation and industry, and continues to do so today.  Join us as Elizabeth A. Williams, Curator of Decorative Arts and Design at the Museum of Art Rhode Island School of Design, provides the perfect prelude to the Art Museum’s forthcoming exhibition Cincinnati Silver: 1788-1940 (opening June 14), by examining the evolution of form and design in works of American silver from the 19th century to the present.
