Cincinnati Art Museum #CAMLibraryShelfie: CAM staff will often borrow useful books from our Mary R. Schiff Library so that they can fully immerse themselves in #art while researching. Our Fashion Curatorial Assistant Adam MacPharlain chose to feature his favorite book while working in our #fashion storage department! Behold! The Collection of the Kyoto Costume Institute text "Fashion: A History from the 18th to the 20th Century" :) #shelfie 11 hour ago via Facebook

An Evening with Cameron Silver

May 05, 2014 - 07:00 pm to 10:00 pm

WHERE:
Evolution Studio: 1645 Blue Rock Street, Northside

Tickets are limited. Please call (513) 721.ARTS (2787) to reserve tickets.

Meet L.A.’s renowned King of Vintage. Collector, stylist to the stars, and author Cameron Silver owns Decades, a high-end vintage boutique in Los Angeles. Named one of Time magazine’s “25 Most Influential Names and Faces in Fashion” in 2002, Silver has dressed A-list celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lopez and Renee Zellweger in upscale vintage designs. He is a favorite pundit on E! Entertainment and Access Hollywood and has written about fashion for Harpers Bazaar (UK), C Magazine, Departures, Style.com, and others.

Silver will be signing his book Decades: A Century of Fashion, now in its second edition. Filled with lavish photography of fashion from 1900 to today, Silver commits all his sartorial knowledge to paper in this oversized, visually stunning book: ten chapters, each devoted to the iconic looks of a decade.

Featured will be a sneak peek at the exhibition Rudi Gernreich: The Total Look. Curated by Silver for MOCA, L.A., this exhibition looks at the creative collaboration between 1960s California designer Rudi Gernreich, his model/muse Peggy Moffitt, and William Claxton, Gernreich’s photographer. The exhibition opens at the Cincinnati Art Museum February 28th, 2015.

Join us on May 5 at Tony Tiemeyer’s Evolution studio, 1645 Blue Rock Street in Northside from 7 to 10 p.m.

Tickets are $100 and include a one year membership to Friends of Fashion; an affiliated support group for the Fashion Arts Department at the Cincinnati Art Museum.

Tickets are limited. Please call (513) 721.ARTS (2787) to reserve tickets.
