Cincinnati Art Museum Have you met "Ghost Cat"? :) Why do you think a cat was roaming around CAM in the 1940s? What would you have named this spooky kitty? Interesting to think about! Our Mary R. Schiff Library Archivist Geoff found some interesting info on the history of felines at the Art Museum... “As it happens, I was looking through some of the museum’s old account books recently and noticed there used to be a weekly order for “cat meat”. Could this have been an offering to appease the spirit of ghost cat..? Or maybe it was just to feed the museum’s resident mouser, but that’s not so spooky!” #throwbackthursday #halloween. The Cincinnati Art Museum has an immediate opening for a full-time Event Sales Coordinator in the Special Events Department.   

 

 

Responsibilities:The Events Sales Coordinator supports the Special Events Manager in aggressively selling and increasing facility rentals as a significant source of revenue for the Art Museum.  The Events Sales Coordinator is also responsible for assisting in the coordination of events, as well as scheduling and setting up all meetings. The Event Sales Coordinator will show the facility to potential clients, answer questions and provide information to clients over the phone and in person. Plan and coordinate rental events, working directly with caterers, florists, and any other service personnel for an event is also required. Making sure set-up for events is completed correctly and on time.  Promote the Cincinnati Art Museum as the premiere venue for special event rentals and representing the Art Museum for bridal shows or other marketing opportunities. Provide and maintain statistical data on events. Understand and use catering software to create catering orders, as well as submitting orders to the client and Museum Café in a timely manner. Other duties as assigned by the Special Events Manager.

 

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree and/or experience in event planning, customer service, sales and marketing, and office administration.  The Events Sales Coordinator must possess excellent customer service, a demonstrated professional appearance and attitude, excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work well with others inside the museum and during events.  Must be flexible to work weekends and night events.
