The Cincinnati Art Museum has an opening for a full-time Marketing & Communications Associate in the Institutional Advancement Division.
Responsibilities: The Marketing and Communications Associate provides support to the Director of Marketing & Communications by coordinating the Art Museum’s media planning and buying, advertising development and production, and promotions and public relations while working closely with other Art Museum divisions. The Marketing and Communications Associate serves as an account supervisor for the creation and implementation of integrated marketing communications plans for various divisions and departments within the Art Museum.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Works collaboratively with the Director of Marketing and Communications and other members of the Institutional Advancement Division. Works collaboratively with outside consultants and vendors, at times managing their work and contracts.
Serves as a conduit for sharing information about the Art Museum with local, regional and national media (print, broadcast and electronic.)
Oversees the Art Museum’s internal communications including writing, organizing and inputting content for the Art Museum’s intranet, CAMEO, e-newsletter, and Social Media.
Serves as a staff representative on various Art Museum committees.
Assists in planning and managing special events and press conferences and press events.
Assists in planning and managing promotional events onsite and offsite, some evenings and weekends.
Writes/copyedits press releases and creates press materials.
Coordinating fulfillment of marketing materials.
General administrative duties including scheduling meetings, initiating correspondence, answering phones, prioritizing mail, processing purchase orders, ordering supplies, and assisting with general office operations.
Performs other duties as assigned by Director of Marketing and Communications.
Requirements: B.A. in marketing, communications, journalism or related field is required. At least three years of marketing experience, preferably with an advertising agency or public relations firm, excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. Strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy office are necessary. Budget management and accounts payable/receivable experience essential. Position requires knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint & Outlook.
