What’s Your Sign?: Petra and the Zodiac
September 10, 2004 to January 9, 2005
Worship of the heavenly bodies was important in the ancient city
of Petra. Using a system known as the zodiac, people plotted
the movements of the Sun, the Moon and the planets against the
stars
in order to predict events on Earth. Students from Robert A.
Taft Information Technology High School, the Hughes Center, and
Bellevue
High School present their interpretations of the ancient signs
of the zodiac as represented in the exhibition Petra: Lost
City of Stone.
This student exhibition is the result of a partnership with Art
Machine, Inc., an organization dedicated to strengthening arts
education in
our schools.
