Description:
In the center of the scene Atropos tries to cut Alexander the Great's life thread. Alexander, at the right, looks up at Fame. Time is trampled at his feet. Clotho and Lachesis are at the left spinning. In the background are allegories of the Sciences (right) and the Arts (left). The Muses stand in the middle background.
