4th Floor fosters the knowledge and understanding of contemporary art in Greater Cincinnati by encouraging energetic young adults to contribute to the future of the Art Museum. Director Aaron Betsky worked with a similar group at San Francisco’s Museum of Modern Art, and now he and several contemporary art collectors have launched 4th Floor in Cincinnati.

4th Floor Members will learn about contemporary art by visiting galleries, artists’ studios and travel to art fairs. The 4th Floor is also organizing the Cincinnati Art Museum’s Regional Biennial. A call for entrees will invite submissions by artists in the tri-state. Members will jury this competition and select the finalists. One finalist will be recommended to the director and curator for an exhibition in the Vance Waddell Gallery of the Cincinnati Art Museum and will be the recipient of the 4th Floor Art Award.

A minimum gift of $500.00 is required to join 4th Floor.  Members will also receive the many benefits enjoyed by upper-level members of the Art Museum. These benefits include: reciprocal membership benefits at over 100 museums nationwide, free, unlimited admission to ticketed exhibitions, subscriptions to the Members Magazine, invitations to Consult-a-Curator Day, discounts at the shop and café, and free or half-price admission to all programs and events.
