Preparator
The Cincinnati Art Museum has opening for the position of full-time preparator in the Installation Department. Funding for this position is designated for one full year.
Responsibilities: Working under the direction of the Coordinator of 3-D Design and Installation within the Design and Installation Department, the preparator is responsible for installing, maintaining, and deinstalling exhibitions in both the permanent collection and temporary exhibition galleries as well as assisting with any other required movement of artwork. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Requirements: Bachelor in fine arts discipline or significant experience in cabinetmaking or fine carpentry. Must be able to demonstrate attention to detail as well as possess the ability to work with one’s hands.
Candidates should be able to work well as a team as well as being able to work well independently. Previous art handling experience a plus. Familiarity with the safety and operation of power tools is preferred
