Cincinnati artist and American master Jim Dine is well-known for his paintings and graphic work, but his prolific endeavors as a sculptor are less well known. In this lecture, Joseph Becherer, founding Director and Curator of the Sculpture Program at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan, will trace the origins of Dine’s sculpture from rarely seen early work of the late 1950s and early 1960s through his most current efforts.
