Treasures of the Spanish World tells a story spread across four millennia and features paintings, sculpture, decorative arts, and works on paper from from Spain and Latin America. A momentous number of these works have not been exhibited outside of the Hispanic Society, and some have never before been exhibited. Learn more


More than Goya’s Muse, the Duchess of Alba Lecture: Dr. Marcus B. Burke

Thursday, October 24, 2019, 7–8 p.m. | Fath Auditorium

Explore the fascinating world of the Duchess of Alba, the subject of the portrait by Francisco Goya currently on display in the exhibition. Marcus Burke, Senior Curator at the Hispanic Society Museum & Library in New York will provide insight into her novel-worthy life, including her relationship to Goya and the turbulent times in which she lived.
