Th e surrealist artists responded to the emotions of life with art. In this workshop inspired by the exhibition Longing: Painting from the Pahari Kingdoms of the Northwest Himalayas\, participants will respond to the emotion of “longing” by creating individual and collaborative collage s using surrealist collage methods. Join us to reflect and create with artist and educator Nandita Baxi Sheth as your guide.
\nNo a rt experience necessary\; all skill levels are encouraged to attend. All materials will be provided. While this program is designed for adults\, t eens 13+ accompanied by an adult are welcome.
\nNandita Baxi Sheth is an artist\, educator\, and researcher. She works in a variety of mediums including watercolor painting and collage. She has taught graduate and undergraduate university courses and led col lage workshops in community and academic settings. Nandita has a Bachelor of Arts from Rice U niversity with majors in Architecture\, Art\, and English. She has a Mast er of Community Planning and Master of Visual Arts Education from the Col lege of Design\, Architecture\, Art\, and Planning (DAAP) at the Universi ty of Cincinnati. She also has a PhD in Philosophy\, Aesthetics\, and Art Theory from the Institute of Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts.
