45th Annual Colonial Dames Lecture and Tea: The Other Tiffany Girl: Agnes Northrop, Designer of Windows

45th Annual Colonial Dames Lecture and Tea: The Other Tiffany Girl: Agnes Northrop, Designer of Windows

5/3/2017

Adults/General | Lectures

Lecture by Alice Cooney Frelinghuysen, Anthony W. and Lulu C. Wang Curator of American Decorative Arts, The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Agnes Northrop designed some of the most memorable stained glass windows to emerge from Louis C. Tiffany’s studios and was the only independent woman designer he employed. In spite of her prominent role and her significance, she has been overshadowed by other female employees and Tiffany himself. Still, Northrop devoted her entire lifetime career to the Tiffany Studios, and was responsible for some of the firm’s most prominent commissions.

Colonial Dames Lecture and Tea graciously underwritten by the L.W. Scott Alter Trust. Presented by The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in the State of Ohio.

FREE for museum and NSCDA Ohio Members $10 for the general public; $5 for students and seniors. Reservations required.
