Silberman; Identified as the buyer in American Art News, "Riabouchinsky Old Masters Sale," vol 14, no. 30, April 29, 1916, p. 5.; Included in sale at American Art Galleries, "Primitives and Other Old Masters belonging to Nicolas Riabouchinsky, Moscow from the collection of Prince Golinicheff-Koutousoff," April 26, 1916, lot 28.; The painting is reproduced and listed as by Joachim Patinier and as in the collection of Comte A. A. Golenistcheff-Koutouzoff in Khudozhestvennyia sokrovishcha Rossii (Les trésors d'art en Russie), 1903, nos. 9-12, p. 370. The artist's name is transcribed here as is printed in the text, but it is correctly spelled Joachim Patinir.
