Bass-Baritone Joseph Parrish is a native of Baltimore, Maryland and a graduating senior at the College-Conservatory of Music within the University of Cincinnati. Recently, Joseph has appeared as Claudio in Béatrice & Bénédict with the Asheville Lyric Opera, Frank in CCM’s production of Die Fledermaus, and Ensemble #4 in the premiere of Blind Injustice with the Cincinnati Opera. In addition, he has served as the University of Cincinnati’s Mr. Kuamka 2019 and is a proud member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
After listening to the opera music performed by Joseph Parrish, explore Renaissance & Baroque art located in gallery 202. See if you can establish a connection with the elegant work and the music selections heard today.
In Gallery 202, look for the painting Saint Charles Borromeo by Italian painter Giovanni Batista Tiepolo. Study the painting to understand the feeling it gives you. Does the subject relate in any way to the some of the music you heard? Could anything in the painting correlate with the meaning of the songs preformed today?
