Discover the mindful art of ceramic repair in this hands-on workshop. Guided by Kelly Rectenwald, the museum’s Conservator of Objects, we’ll explore repaired ceramics in the collection and learn how repair tells a story of care and significance. Together, we’ll reflect on repair as an act of mindfulness before practicing a kintsugi-inspired technique on a small flowerpot. This program invites you to experience the meditative process of mending and the value of restoring use to something broken.
No art experience necessary; all skill levels are encouraged to attend. While this program is designed for adults, teens 13+ accompanied by an adult are welcome.
