October 4, 11, 18, 25 – Portrait Drawing
Explore portraits in CAM’s collection, then learn techniques for how to draw yourself and people around you.
Build your child’s creative confidence and foundational artistic skills in this drop-off program for young artists ages 9–12. Each monthly four-class session, taught by instructors from the Art Academy of Cincinnati, focuses on a specific medium or technique—such as drawing, painting, printmaking, or textiles. Sessions begin with a guided art viewing experience in the museum’s galleries, where children will engage with inspiring works and ideas. Then, in our ground-floor classrooms, they will dive into hands-on learning and art making, applying what they’ve seen to create their own original pieces.

This program takes place in the Eckerle classroom on the museum’s ground level. For the October 18 class, please enter through the Dewitt Entrance near the back parking lot.
