Sunday, June 14, 2026 from 1–2 p.m.
Free, drop-in. Registration not required.
Join us for a pop-up performance by Ziaire Trinidad Sherman (also known as SHERMVN), inspired by Richard Mayhew’s painting Prelude in E Minor. Sherman will lead us on a journey through the painting’s sherbet‑colored landscape using the deep, resonant voice of the baritone saxophone. Guided by jazz and the land itself, he will embark on an improvisational conversation that asks: What are the things words cannot say? What possibilities does abstraction open up? Soft, sweet tones and dark multiphonic textures will blend just as Mayhew blended his paint.
Program takes place in Gallery 216. Limited seating available.
