Art on The Rise: Fall Fun

Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 1–5 p.m.

Kick off the afternoon at 1 p.m. with a brief meditation session from our partner, The Well!

Following the meditation, creativity starts to flow as we prepare for the 2 p.m. performance of Ecotone: Sonic Ascent, a community sound art installation designed and produced by J. Howd. Five musical performances will transform five different plazas on the Art Climb into distinct sonic worlds. Inspired by the themes of Cosmic Cafe, Fairyland Forest, Crystal Cathedral, Haunted Shipwreck, and Steampunk Junkyard, the performance will create an evolving soundscape that changes with every step.

There is no single place to experience the performances—and that’s the point—wander, climb, pause, listen, and discover how the music shifts as you move between plazas. A melody heard from one level may blend with a rhythm from another; sounds that seem separate from one location may unexpectedly become part of a larger musical composition from another.

You are invited to join the performance with musical instruments, which you can make at the CAM Cruiser before the music starts, or percussion instruments that will be provided. With your help, we will create an immersive, site-specific musical journey where architecture, movement, imagination, and sound all come together. 

From 3–5 p.m. we invite you to create a Community Canvas with Happen Inc., celebrating the fall season. The five plazas will continue to host our thematic visual interpretations, creating a perfect end-of-day photo op for guests.

• 1–2 p.m. Instrument making with the CAM Cruiser and collaborative set building
• 2–3 p.m. PERFORMANCE, Ecotone: Sonic Ascent
• 3–4 p.m. Community Canvas with Happen Inc. and photo opportunities with sets
